There was an upset when higher rankedLumezzane (9-9) was edged on the road by sixteenth ranked Piacenza (6-12) 70-68 on Wednesday. Point guard Tommaso Lanzi (185-2002, agency: Players Group) stepped up and scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and point guard Vincenzo Taddeo (190-2000) chipped in 14 points. Giacomo Baldini (190-1996) responded with 24 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and Latvian point guard Marcis Vitols (186-1992) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Lumezzane players scored in double figures. Lumezzane's coach Luciano Nunzi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Piacenza maintains sixteenth place with 6-12 record. Lumezzane lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost.
