An interesting game forValdarno (13-2) which hosted in Valdarno 3rd placed Empoli (11-4). First ranked Valdarno managed to get a 12-point victory 76-64 . Valdarno had a 38-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Portuguese center Carolina Cruz (195-2001, college: Manhattan) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds. Swingman Giorgia Amatori (180-2003) accounted for 9 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Valdarno players scored in double figures. Slovakian Stella Tarkovicova (181-1999) came up with 20 points and 6 rebounds and guard Angelica Castellani (170-2000) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Empoli in the defeat. Empoli's coach Alessio Cioni rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Valdarno . They maintain first place with 13-2 record, which they share with Udine. Loser Empoli keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Mantova and Matelica.
