There was no surprise when 14th rankedImola ACosta (13-19) was edged at home by eleventh ranked Monferrato (17-15) 73-71 on Sunday. Strangely Imola ACosta outrebounded Monferrato 48-35 including 36 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Niccolo Martinoni (203-1989) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized American Dalton Pepper (197-1990, college: Temple, agency: SLN) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Monferrato's coach Fabio Corbani used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Slovenian guard Maks Klanjscek (196-1999, college: Oklahoma) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and guard Luca Toniato (193-1998, agency: Interperformances) scored 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Monferrato moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Fidenza and Chiusi. Imola ACosta lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Salerno.
