Very expected game when 13th rankedAncona (2-22) was smashed on the road by seventh ranked Trieste (14-10) 82-53 on Saturday. Trieste dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Ancona 's 24. Trieste forced 20 Ancona turnovers. The winners were led by power forward Costanza Miccoli (185-1995) who scored that evening 23 points and 8 rebounds and guard Giorgia Sammartini (175-2001) supported her with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Trieste players scored in double figures. Even 17 points by guard Elena Streri (170-2004) did not help to save the game for Ancona . Power forward Giulia Pierdicca (183-1993) added 10 points and 7 rebounds. Ancona's coach Luca Piccionne gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Trieste moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Livorno. Ancona lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 22 games lost. They share it with Vigarano and Benevento.
