There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Vicenza (1-4) won against on the road higher ranked Cagliari CUS (1-4) 63-54 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Giovanna Smorto (178-1999) who scored 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Swedish forward Amanda Kantzy (186-1996, college: Albany) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Bosnian center Tea Peric (186-1999) produced 13 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Giorgia Bovenzi (165-2002) added 16 points respectively for the hosts. Vicenza left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Cagliari CUS. It was Cagliari CUS's third loss in a row.
