There was an upset when higher rankedFaenza (5-4) was edged at home by twelfth ranked Alcamo (2-6) 60-58 on Thursday. Alcamo forced 19 Faenza turnovers. North Macedonian forward Matea Nikolic (191-2002, college: Kansas) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Spanish guard Violeta Verano Fores (175-2001, college: TAMUCC) supported her with 6 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Alcamo's coach Vincenzo Ferrara used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 23 points and 6 rebounds by Bulgarian forward Iliyana Georgieva (186-2003) did not help to save the game for Faenza . Argentinian power forward Celia Fiorotto (184-1992) added 12 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Alcamo moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Faenza dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Cagliari V and San Salvatore.
