There was an upset when higher rankedQuarrata (7-11) was defeated on the road by nineteenth ranked Pesaro Loreto (4-13) 86-82 on Saturday. Pesaro Loreto forced 19 Quarrata turnovers. Andrea Valentini scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and Matteo Graziani chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Pesaro Loreto players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Tommaso De Gregori (203-1998) with 22 points and forward Amedeo Tiberti (196-2000) scored 18 points and 5 steals. Quarrata's coach Alberto Tonfoni let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Pesaro Loreto moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Quarrata at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Pesaro Loreto will meet league's second-placed Livorno Pielle on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Quarrata will have a break next round.
