Very predictable result in Verona where second rankedAlpo (13-3) defeated 11th ranked Trieste (5-11) 78-74 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Alpo outrebounded Trieste 53-34 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Antonia Peresson (176-1995, college: Georgia Tech) who had a triple-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. Forward Francesca Parmesani (176-1998) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Power forward Costanza Miccoli (185-1995) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Argentinian guard Milagros Maza (173-2003) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Trieste's coach Andrea Mura tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Alpo maintains second place with 13-3 record behind leader Matelica. Loser Trieste dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
