Eighth-rankedCagliari V (6-9) gave a tough game to third ranked Torino (12-4). Torino managed to secure only one-point victory 78-77 . However their fans expected much easier game. Torino outrebounded Cagliari V 47-28 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. French guard Marion Heriaud (168-1999) nailed 14 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side and Nigerian forward Francisca Chukwu (185-2006) accounted for 13 points and 13 rebounds. Five Torino players scored in double figures. Guard Silvia Nativi (183-2002, college: N.Colorado) came up with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Polish guard Monika Naczk (167-1995) added 17 points and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for Cagliari V in the defeat. Cagliari V's coach Fabrizio Staico rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Torino . They maintain third place with 12-4 record having just two points less than leader Matelica. Cagliari V at the other side keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Alcamo.
