Regular Season Round 18: Alcamo - Alpo 90-87

The most exciting game of round 18 in the Serie A2 took place in Alcamo. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-bestAlpo (13-4) to ninth ranked Alcamo (7-9) 90-87 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Alcamo outrebounded Alpo 48-35 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Francesca Russo who scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Romanian guard Justina Kraujunaite (178-1995) chipped in 7 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. Alcamo's coach Vincenzo Ferrara used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was center Serena Soglia (186-2000) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and the former international guard Antonia Peresson (176-1995, college: Georgia Tech) added 18 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists respectively. Four Alpo players scored in double figures. Alcamo have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Cagliari V. Alpo at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost.
