No shocking result in a game when first rankedMatelica (15-2) beat at home 7th ranked Alcamo (7-10) 69-51 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for Cypriot center Eleni Pilakouta (190-2000, college: Omaha) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Ilaria Bonvecchio (172-1994) accounted for 14 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Pilakouta is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Chiara Schena (182-2004) came up with 17 points and Elena Vella (173-2000) added 12 points respectively for Alcamo in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Matelica . They maintain first place with 15-2 record. Loser Alcamo dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Vicenza.
