Not a big story in a game when 4th rankedRagusa (10-8) was defeated at home by first ranked Matelica (16-2) 53-46 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Cypriot center Eleni Pilakouta (190-2000, college: Omaha) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Ilaria Bonvecchio (172-1994) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Pilakouta is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Matelica's coach Alberto Matassini used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Federica Mazza (174-2001) produced 5 points and 13 rebounds and guard Ilaria Moriconi (165-2000) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Matelica have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 16-2 record. Ragusa lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost.
