Ninth-rankedTrieste (9-13) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Matelica (17-3) on Saturday. The visitors from Matelica managed to secure only one-point victory 63-62 . However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Ilaria Bonvecchio (172-1994) who helped to win the game recording 15 points. Cypriot center Eleni Pilakouta (190-2000, college: Omaha) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Pilakouta is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Power forward Costanza Miccoli (185-1995) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Slovenian forward Zala Srot (185-2004) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Trieste. Matelica maintains first position with 17-3 record, which they share with Costa Masnaga. Trieste at the other side keeps the ninth place with 13 games lost.
