There was no surprise when 11th rankedVicenza (9-14) was outleveled on the road by first ranked Matelica (19-4) 70-41 on Wednesday. Guard Chiara Bacchini (181-1998, college: Quinnipiac) nailed 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and point guard Benedetta Gramaccioni (174-1998) accounted for 7 points and 10 rebounds. Matelica's coach Alberto Matassini felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Alice Nori (185-1993) came up with 10 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Erica Degiovanni (162-1999) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Vicenza in the defeat. Matelica maintains first place with 19-4 record. Vicenza lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Trieste and Rovigo.
