Regular Season Round 6: Toshiba BT - Tochigi Brex 67-89

The most important game in the last round took place in Kanagawa between third ranked Toshiba Thunders (9-3) and fourth ranked Tochigi Brex (8-2) on Saturday night. Toshiba Thunders were crushed by Tochigi Brex at home 67-89. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Toshiba Thunders. The game without a history. Tochigi Brex led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Toshiba Thunders' 30. Tochigi Brex looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 17 rebounds and 9 assists. The other American import guard Tommy Brenton (196-89, college: Stony Brook) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and the former international swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) added 17 points in the effort for Toshiba Thunders. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tochigi Brex maintains fourth position with 8-2 record. Toshiba Thunders at the other side keep the third place with three games lost. Tochigi Brex are looking forward to face league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Toshiba Thunders will play on the road against the league's second-placed Toyota Alvark in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
