Regular Season Round 9: Toyota Alvark - Hiroshima D. 90-76

NBL top team - Toyota Alvark (14-3) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat eighth ranked Dragonflies (7-12) in Tokyo 90-76. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota Alvark. Dragonflies was better in third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toyota Alvark forced 20 Dragonflies turnovers and outrebounded them 43-30 including 18 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Richard Solomon (208-92, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Toyota Alvark's coach Takuma Ito used entire bench saving starting five for next games. American forward Haminn Quaintance (203-85, college: Kent St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (206-85) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Dragonflies. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Toyota Alvark. Despite that victory Toyota Alvark went down to second position due to points difference. Dragonflies lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh place with 12 games lost. Toyota Alvark's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena .
