Regular Season Round 26: Fukushima - Okinawa GK 78-93

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Fukushima (13-9) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Okinawa GK (16-7) 93-78 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Fukushima was better in second period 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Evan Ravenel (203-89, college: Ohio St.) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 19 rebounds. The other American import Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Stephan Van Treese (206-90, college: Louisville, agency: Two Points) produced 21 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Kenya Tomori (177-84) added 18 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Five Okinawa GK and four Fukushima players scored in double figures. Okinawa GK maintains fourth position with 16-7 record. Loser Fukushima dropped to the fifth place with nine games lost. Okinawa GK will face Yokohama BC (#6) on the road in the next round. Fukushima will play against Osaka Evessa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
