Regular Season Round 31: Shinshu BW - Sendai 89ers 78-93

BJ League top team - Sendai 89ers (21-6) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat tenth ranked Shinshu BW (9-18) in Nagano 93-78. The game was mostly controlled by Sendai 89ers. Shinshu BW managed to win second period 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) fired 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Power forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists. Sendai 89ers' coach Shuto Kawachi used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) produced 22 points and 9 rebounds and forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) added 19 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Sendai 89ers. They maintain first place with 21-6 record. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the tenth position with 18 games lost. Sendai 89ers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shinshu BW will play again against the league's leader Sendai 89ers (#1) and hope to secure a win.
