Regular Season Round 16: Tsukuba R. - Tochigi Brex 69-107

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Tochigi Brex (24-6) outscored on the road bottom-ranked Tsukuba R. (5-26) 107-69 on Sunday. The game without a history. Tochigi Brex led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Tsukuba R.'s 30. They outrebounded Tsukuba R. 32-20 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tochigi Brex looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Tsukuba R.'s players. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Tommy Brenton (196-89, college: Stony Brook) who helped to win the game recording 6 points, 7 rebounds, 13 assists and 6 steals and the other American import power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who added 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Juan Pattillo (201-88, college: W.Kentucky) responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds and center Naruhisa Takamura (194-84) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tochigi Brex have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 24-6 record behind leader Toyota Alvark. Tsukuba R. lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 26 lost games. Tochigi Brex will face Mitsubishi Dolphins (#7) in Nagoya in the next round where they are favorite. Tsukuba R. will play on the road against Aishin Sea Horses (#3) in Kariya and hope to win that game.
