Regular Season Round 22: Chiba Jets - Hokkaido L. 85-59

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Chiba Jets (15-22) outscored at home 6th ranked Hokkaido L. (21-20) 85-59 on Saturday. The game without a history. Chiba Jets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Chiba Jets forced 19 Hokkaido L. turnovers. American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Fumio Nishimura (177-86) chipped in 18 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) during the contest. At the losing side American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and guard Asahi Tajima (173-88) scored 15 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Chiba Jets moved-up to seventh place. Loser Hokkaido L. keeps the sixth position with 20 games lost. Chiba Jets will face Dragonflies (#9) in Hiroshima in the next round.
