Regular Season Round 55: Hamamatsu P. - Okinawa GK 56-74

An interesting game for Okinawa GK (39-10) which played road game in Mikawa against 4th placed Hamamatsu Phoenix (33-16). First ranked Okinawa GK had an easy win 74-56. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hamamatsu Phoenix. It looked good early as Hamamatsu Phoenix took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Okinawa GK had a 23-11 second period charge getting the lead and Hamamatsu Phoenix was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 56-74. They outrebounded Hamamatsu Phoenix 47-34 including 39 on the defensive glass. Guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-90) fired 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American power forward Evan Ravenel (203-89, college: Ohio St.) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) produced 7 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Deangelo Kirkland (203, college: Columbus St., agency: Interperformances) added 10 points respectively for lost side. Hamamatsu Phoenix's coach tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Okinawa GK have an impressive series of sixteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 39-10 record. Hamamatsu Phoenix at the other side keeps the fourth position with 16 games lost. Okinawa GK will have a break next round. Hamamatsu Phoenix will play again at home against the league's leader Okinawa GK (#1) and hope to win that game.
