Regular Season Round 15: Niigata R. - Chanson V-M 50-95

Bottom-ranked Niigata R. is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 13th consecutive match to third ranked Chanson V-M (11-2) 95-50. The game without a history. Chanson V-M led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Niigata R.'s 28 and made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Niigata R. 52-32 including a 32-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Chanson V-M players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a great evening for forward Naoko Chikahira (180-93) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Minaho Minamiminoru (167-93) helped adding 20 points and 7 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. Chanson V-M's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was point guard Megumi Yamasawa (162-96) with 13 points and 5 rebounds and forward Anka Ohama (180-92) scored 5 points and 6 rebounds. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Chanson V-M. They maintain third place with 11-2 record having just two points less than leader JX-Eneos S., which they share with Fujitsu RW and Denso Iris. Niigata R. lost their thirteenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 13 games lost. They share the position with Aishin AW and Yamanashi QB. Chanson V-M will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Niigata R. will play again at home against Chanson V-M (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
