Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Orange Vikings (10-14) defeated 6th ranked Shinshu BW (6-18) in Matsuyama 88-72 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 55-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Orange Vikings made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Shinshu BW turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for American forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Toshino Yoshihiko (186-92) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Blackledge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Orange Vikings players scored in double figures. American forward Terrance Shannon (203-90, college: VCU) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 21 rebounds and Yasuhiko Yasuhiko (181-90) added 21 points in the effort for Shinshu BW. Shinshu BW's coach Ryutaro Onodera let to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Orange Vikings have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 10-14 record. Shinshu BW lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
