Regular Season Round 2: Fukuoka Rizing - Gunma 70-66

Fukuoka Rizing defeated Gunma at home 70-66. It looked good early as Gunma took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Fukuoka Rizing had a 18-13 second period charge getting the lead and Gunma was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-70. Fukuoka Rizing players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: Arizona St.) notched 9 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Daisuke Kobayashi (188-87) supported him with 18 points. Even 18 points and 6 rebounds by American center Ryan Stephan (208-94, college: Colorado Mesa) did not help to save the game for Gunma. His fellow American import forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) added 11 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Gunma will play next round against strong Aomori Watts trying to get back on the winning streak. Fukuoka Rizing will try to continue on its current victory against Yamagata on the road.
