Regular Season Round 2: Hiroshima D. - Fukushima 68-66

A very interesting game took place in Hiroshima. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of Fukushima (1-1) to Dragonflies (1-1) 68-66 in the fight for the second place. It looked good early as Fukushima took a 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Dragonflies had a 25-13 second period charge getting the lead and Fukushima was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-68. Dragonflies forced 21 Fukushima turnovers. American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) contributed with 9 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Shinya Murakami (172-91) added 18 points in the effort for Fukushima. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Dragonflies' next round opponent will be Iwate Big Bulls (#5) on the road. Fukushima will play against Kagawa FA and hope to win that game.
