Regular Season Round 3: Yamagata - Fukuoka Rizing 73-85

Rather predictable result when Fukuoka Rizing (3-0) beat on the road Yamagata (1-2) 85-73 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 16-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-73. Fukuoka Rizing looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: Arizona St.) who scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) who recorded 19 points and guard Masanari Masanari (186-91) added 15 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Fukuoka Rizing will have a break next round. Yamagata will play again at home against Fukuoka Rizing and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
