Regular Season Round 7: Osaka Evessa - Shimane SM 72-78

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Shimane Magic's (2-3) road victory over bottom-ranked Osaka Evessa (0-5) 78-72 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 6 points. Osaka Evessa was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import center Garrett Stutz (214-90, college: Wichita St.) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. American center Greg Smith (208-91, college: Fresno St.) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds and the former international forward Naoya Kumagae (194-90) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shimane Magic moved-up to third place, which they share with Hitachi SR and Tochigi Brex. Loser Osaka Evessa still closes the standings with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
