Regular Season Round 22: Toshiba BT - Chiba Jets 85-88

A very close game took place in Kanagawa between Chiba Jets and Toshiba Thunders. Second ranked Chiba Jets (22-10) got a very close victory on the road over one of their biggest challengers Toshiba Thunders (20-12). Chiba Jets managed to escape with a 3-point win 88-85 in the fight for the second place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Toshiba Thunders. Chiba Jets looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international power forward Ryumo Ono (197-88) chipped in 13 points and 8 assists during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) responded with 26 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Yuma Fujii (178-91) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Five Chiba Jets and four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. Toshiba Thunders' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Chiba Jets maintains second position with 22-10 record having four points less than leader Ryukyu GK. Loser Toshiba Thunders keep the third place with 12 games lost. Chiba Jets will meet Shiga L-Stars (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Toshiba Thunders will play against Shimane Magic and hope to secure a win.
