Regular Season Round 37: Kagawa FA - Fukushima 73-82

Not a big story in a game in Takamatsu where 5th ranked Kagawa FA (16-18) was defeated by second ranked Fukushima (21-13) 82-73 on Monday. Fukushima made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Guard Shota Kanno (187-92) stepped up and scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and point guard Shinya Murakami (172-91) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) responded with 27 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Montay Brandon (203-93, college: Florida St.) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Fukushima. They maintain second place with 21-13 record having ten points less than leader Gunma. Loser Kagawa FA keeps the fifth position with 18 games lost. Fukushima will face Yamagata (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kagawa FA will play against the league's leader Akita Happinets and hope to win that game.
