Regular Season Round 30: Toshiba BT - Chiba Jets 78-97

The game between Top Four teams took place in Kanagawa. One of their biggest challengers host Toshiba Thunders (32-16) were smashed by first ranked Chiba Jets (35-12) 97-78. Chiba Jets shot 62.3 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Chiba Jets especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Chiba Jets have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory Chiba Jets went down to second position due to points difference. Loser Toshiba Thunders keep the third place with 16 games lost. Chiba Jets will face Hokkaido L. (#5) in Saporro in the next round. Toshiba Thunders will play at home against the league's leader Toyota Alvark and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
