Regular Season Round 31: Hokkaido L. - Chiba Jets 72-103

Everything went according to plan in Saporro where second ranked Chiba Jets (37-12) outleveled 5th ranked Hokkaido L. (24-25) 103-72 on Saturday. Chiba Jets dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Hokkaido L.'s 44. Chiba Jets forced 20 Hokkaido L. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Hokkaido L. was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) fired 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. His fellow American import forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) chipped in 20 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and American swingman Dijon Thompson (201-83, college: UCLA) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Chiba Jets. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Hokkaido L. dropped to the second place with 25 games lost. Chiba Jets will face league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hokkaido L. will play on the road against Tochigi Brex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
