Regular Season Round 35: Chiba Jets - Hokkaido L. 97-84

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Chiba Jets (44-13) defeated at home 5th ranked Hokkaido L. (26-31) 97-84 on Sunday. Chiba Jets forced 19 Hokkaido L. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) contributed with 18 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) answered with 42 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) and American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Hokkaido L.Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Chiba Jets. They maintain first place with 44-13 record. Hokkaido L. lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the third position with 31 games lost. Chiba Jets will face Toshiba Thunders (#3) in Kanagawa in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hokkaido L. will play on the road against Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo and hope to win that game.
