Regular Season Round 7: Borea - Ylli 96-93

The most exciting game of round 7 in the Liga e pare took place in Peja. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Xhebrailat (4-2) to seventh ranked Borea (2-5) 96-93 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Xhebrailat. Borea looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for point guard Shpend Gashi (184-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Power forward Allen Idrizaj (196-88) helped adding 24 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side forward Artin Gashi (203-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and international forward Arif Mehmetaj (201-94, college: Daemen) scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. Four Borea and five Xhebrailat players scored in double figures. Borea moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Kerasan. Xhebrailat at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with Bashkimi and Rahoveci. Borea is looking forward to face higher ranked Rahoveci (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Xhebrailat will play against Kerasan and is hoping to win this game.
