The game in Tripoli supposed to be also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Byblos (5-6) played at the court of sixth ranked Al Moutahed (6-5). Al Moutahed smashed Byblos 96-73. The game without a history. Al Moutahed led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Al Moutahed outrebounded Byblos 38-25 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Michael Taylor (186-86, college: Iowa St.) who scored 26 points and 5 assists. The other American import guard Ramel Curry (191-80, college: CSU Bakersfield) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Five Al Moutahed players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international Jasmon Youngblood (195-84, college: Kent St.) who recorded 25 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American-Ukrainian guard Steven Burtt (189-84, college: Iona) added 25 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al Moutahed moved-up to fourth place. Byblos at the other side dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Al Moutahed's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Champville (#9) in Dik El Mehdi where they are favorite. Byblos will play on the road against Sagesse in Beirut and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
