Regular Season Round 10: Al Riyadi - CS Antonine 83-72

There was no surprise in Beirut where 7th ranked CS Antonins (3-7) were defeated by third ranked Al Riyadi (8-2) 83-72. Al Riyadi players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a very good performance for the former international point guard Wael Arakji (194-94) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) contributed with 18 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Al Riyadi's coach Ahmad Farran allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American-Barbados forward Vernon Goodridge (206-84, college: La Salle) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and American Rashad McCants (193-84, college: N.Carolina, agency: Haylett Sports) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for CS Antonins. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Champville. Newly promoted CS Antonins keep the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Louaize. Al Riyadi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beirut to the arena Beirut Club.
