Regular Season Round 17: Petrochema - Perlas-MRU 62-71

NKL round 17 most important game was a victory of Perlas-MRU over 5th ranked Petrochema 71-62 on Friday night. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 38-24 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Perlas-MRU dominated on the defensive end, holding Petrochema to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They also forced 21 Petrochema turnovers. Swingman Tautvydas Pipiras (198-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Tomas Galeckas (184-94) contributed with 2 points, 11 assists and 5 steals for the winners. point guard Tadas Sebeziovas (185-85) answered with 12 points and 5 assists and guard Ricardas Verbickas (191-95) added 11 points in the effort for Petrochema. Perlas-MRU have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Vytis and Palanga. Petrochema at the other side dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Zalgiris II. Perlas-MRU is looking forward to face Telsiai (#8) in Telsiu in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Petrochema will play on the road against Delikatesas in Joniskis and is hoping to win this game.
