There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengersLietkabelis (4-4) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Siauliai (4-4) 96-92 on Saturday. Siauliai looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American Gerry Blakes (193-1993, college: Arizona St.) who scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Marius Valinskas (187-1999) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists. The former international Mantas Rubstavicius (198-2002) produced 28 points (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) and swingman Martynas Varnas (196-1997) added 17 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lietkabelis' coach Nenad Canak rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Siauliai moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Lietkabelis and Jonava.
