Regular Season Round 6: VKM - Perkunas 94-74

Undefeated leaderVKM delivered the fifth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 9th ranked Perkunas (1-4) 94-74 in Vilniaus. The game was mostly controlled by VKM. Perkunas was better in second period 21-18 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. VKM dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Perkunas ' 28. VKM forced 23 Perkunas turnovers and outrebounded them 45-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. VKM players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a good game for guard Gabrielius Kerys (190-2008) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Mantas Liutkevicius (185-2007) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals for the winners. VKM's coach Edvinas Justas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Martynas Barzdaitis (174-2007) replied with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Dominykas Grunkis (164-2007) added 15 points and 5 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) in the effort for Perkunas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. VKM (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row. Perkunas lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with four games lost. They share the position with Saule and SKM II.
