The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th rankedNeptunas ' (7-12) home loss to sixth ranked Lietkabelis (9-10) in Klaipeda 72-91 on Sunday. Lietkabelis dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Neptunas ' 24. They outrebounded Neptunas 43-21 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Lietkabelis looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Neptunas ' players. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Paulius Danusevicius (205-2001) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Ukrainian point guard Oleksandr Kovliar (191-2002) accounted for 12 points and 9 assists for the winning side. American guard Desure Buie (182-1997, college: Hofstra) came up with 13 points and the other American import point guard Nate Johnson (193-1998, college: Xavier) added 14 points respectively for Neptunas in the defeat. Five Lietkabelis and four Neptunas players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Lietkabelis moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Jonava. Loser Neptunas dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost.
