Regular Season Round 23: Kretinga - Silute 81-93

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Kretinga (10-11) lost at home to twelfth ranked Silute (10-12) 93-81 on Saturday. Silute dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Kretinga's 46. It was an exceptional evening for JVon McCormick who led the winners and scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American swingman Devin Hutchinson (196-1996, college: Radford) accounted for 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Silute players scored in double figures. Center Augustinas Mikstas (203-2001) came up with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists and point guard Mantvydas Staniulis (186-1997) added 21 points respectively for Kretinga in the defeat. Silute moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Kretinga keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Rytas 2. Silute will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kretinga will play against Mazeikiai (#6) and hope to secure a win.
