Regular Season Round 25: Neptunas - Lietkabelis 96-87

There was no surprise in Klaipeda where 5th rankedLietkabelis (10-12) was defeated by third ranked Neptunas (13-9) 96-87 on Saturday. Neptunas made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. The former international point guard Arnas Velicka (195-1999) stepped up and scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Latvian guard Rihards Lomazs (189-1996) chipped in 17 points. Neptunas' coach Gediminas Petrauskas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Estonian point guard Kristian Kullamaee (193-1999) responded with 26 points and the former international Paulius Danusevicius (205-2001) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Five Neptunas and four Lietkabelis players scored in double figures. Neptunas maintains third place with 13-9 record having ten points less than leader Zalgiris. Loser Lietkabelis keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost.
