Very expected game when 9th ranked Panteras (15-19) lost to third ranked Soles (24-8) in Mexicali 86-98. The game was mostly controlled by Soles. Panteras was better in second period 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Soles outrebounded Panteras 52-27 including a 26-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds.
