Regular Season Round 38: Panteras - Fuerza Regia 80-76

The most important game in the last round took place in Aguascalientes between third ranked Fuerza Regia (20-15) and eleventh ranked Panteras (10-24) on Saturday night. Fuerza Regia was defeated by Panteras in a tough game on the road 76-80. The best player for the winners was American-Panamanian Levour Warren (196-81, college: S.Carolina) who scored 17 points. Senegalese center Babacar Camara (211-81, college: CS Fullerton) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Panteras players scored in double figures. American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) produced a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Mike Mitchell (181-83, college: N.Mexico St., agency: HMS) added 11 points and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Panteras moved-up to tenth place. Fuerza Regia at the other side keeps the third position with 15 games lost. Panteras are looking forward to face higher ranked Abejas (#6) in Guanajuato in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fuerza Regia will play at home against Jefes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
