Regular Season Round 39: Abejas - Panteras 91-92

A very close game took place in Guanajuato between Panteras and Abejas. Tenth ranked Panteras (11-24) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Abejas (14-21). Panteras managed to escape with a 1-point win 92-91 on Thursday evening. Panteras made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Raymont McElroy (190-89, college: W.Virg.Wesl.) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 5 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). American-Panamanian Levour Warren (196-81, college: S.Carolina) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Panteras' coach Jacinto Alvarez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Travis Franklin (200-88, college: Colorado St.) came up with 31 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) added 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Abejas in the defeat. Panteras moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Santos. Abejas lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 21 games lost. Panteras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Abejas will play again against Panteras (#10) and hope to secure a win.
