Very predictable result in Agua Prieta where fourth ranked Frayles de Guasave (6-3) defeated 9th ranked Vaqueros (2-7) 103-99. Frayles de Guasave shot 64.3 percent from the field and made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Frayles de Guasave outrebounded Vaqueros 30-15 including a 24-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. It was a very good performance for Kevin Rogers (206-86, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 8 rebounds. Guard DK Eldridge (188, college: N.Mexico St.) contributed with 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Frayles de Guasave's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Steven Pledger (193-90, college: Oklahoma) replied with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Dominique Keller (205-88, college: Illinois) added 24 points in the effort for Vaqueros. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Frayles de Guasave moved-up to third place, which they share with Guaymas. Vaqueros lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. Frayles de Guasave will have a break next round. Vaqueros will play again at home against Frayles de Guasave (#4) and hope to win that game.
