The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Ciudad players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American guard Tony Bennett (185-84, college: Bradley) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import swingman Marcus Morrison (198-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) accounted for 22 points. Four Ciudad players scored in double figures. American forward Lorrenzo Wade (201-85, college: San Diego St., agency: DTMones) came up with 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and the former international center Lorenzo Mata (205-86, agency: Pro Sports) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Toros in the defeat. Toros' coach Jose Martinez Boglio rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ciudad. They moved-up to sixth place. Toros lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keep the fifth position with 13 games lost. Ciudad will play against bottom-ranked Correcaminos (#10) in Ciudad Victoria in the next round. Toros will play at home against Abejas (#9) and hope to get back on the winning track.
