Regular Season Round 7: Santos - Panteras 84-95

An interesting game took place in San Luis Potosi where higher ranked Santos (3-4) were upset on its own court by tenth ranked Panteras (2-3) 95-84 on Sunday. Panteras dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Santos' 26. They outrebounded Santos 34-20 including a 24-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American-Puerto Rican guard Isaac Sosa Carrion (190-90, college: Canisius) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points. American power forward Michael Glover (203-87, college: Iona) helped adding 16 points and 5 rebounds. Panteras' coach Ronald Guillen allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American forward Curtis Withers (203-84, college: Charlotte, agency: Interperformances) responded with 25 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and the other American import guard Mark Borders (188-82, college: Tampa) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 assists. Four Panteras and five Santos players scored in double figures. Panteras moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Abejas. Loser Santos dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Panteras will have a break next round.
