Regular Season Round 12: Gimle BBK - Centrum 92-67

Everything went according to plan in Bergen where fifth ranked Gimle BBK (7-7) outscored bottom-ranked Centrum (1-11) 92-67 on Friday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Gimle BBK's pressure prevailed and they won that period 30-9 extending their advantage to 25 points. Gimle BBK forced 20 Centrum turnovers and outrebounded them 42-25 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Centrum was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Eivind Lamo (195-96) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and guard Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) who added 17 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Magnus Midtvedt (182-90) with 26 points and guard Johan Flaa (183-99) scored 9 points. Gimle BBK moved-up to fourth place. Defending champion Centrum stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Gimle BBK will face higher ranked Froya Basket (#3) in Laksevag in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Centrum's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Oslo Ammerud Bskt.
