Regular Season Round 15: Midtbyen - Ullern 70-72

The most exciting game of round 15 in the Kvinneligaen took place in Trondheim. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Midtbyen (5-12) to fourth ranked Ullern (7-9) 72-70 in the game for the fourth place. Ullern looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Ullern made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was the former international center Tori Halvorsen (183-1988, college: American) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Laura Basora chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Ullern's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Dominique Leonidas (165, college: Boise St.) who recorded 21 points and 5 assists and guard Emma Mathilde Tallaksen (174-1999) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Ullern maintains fourth place with 7-9 record. Midtbyen lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 12 games lost. Ullern are looking forward to face league's leader Ulriken in Bergen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Midtbyen will play on the road against Storm U. (#7) in Tromso and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
