There was no surprise when 11th ranked Gimbasket Wroclaw (1-17) was crushed at home by third ranked Polonia Bytom (12-6) 87-42 on Saturday. The game without a history. Polonia Bytom led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gimbasket Wroclaw to just 7 points in third quarter. Polonia Bytom dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Gimbasket Wroclaw's 20. Polonia Bytom forced 27 Gimbasket Wroclaw turnovers. Gimbasket Wroclaw was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Marcin Strzelecki (193-91) fired 15 points for the winners. Point guard Pawel Jurczynski (183-91) chipped in 15 points. Four Polonia Bytom players scored in double figures. Swingman Bartosz Zajac (195-91) produced 9 points and 9 rebounds and guard Igor Tkacz (182-97) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Polonia Bytom maintains third place in Group C with 12-6 record having just two points less than leader Nysa Klodzko. Gimbasket Wroclaw lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Polonia Bytom will face league's second-placed MCKiS Jaworz. in Jaworzno in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
